Leo Carrillo State Beach
Leo Carrillo State Beach has the best of both worlds: a well-equipped stretch of sand along with seclusion and scenic beauty. Long boarders can paddle out for mellow waves, while nature lovers can explore tide pools on the rock-dotted coastline and a nearby trail. The park which is named after the actor and preservationist who served on the California Beach and Parks Commission for 18 years also has tide pools, campsites and other beach-combing delights. A small visitor center offers interpretive displays, as well as guided nature walks and campfire programs.
El Matador Beach

There is an aquarium at the end of the pier, with interesting sea creatures and a touch pool. If you’re feeling sporty, this beach comes with a bike path and plenty of room for a game.
